Local Dorset artist Elizabeth Johnson paints the Muskoka and Haliburton landscape in a loose impressionist style. Her oil paintings depict rocks, trees, lakes, sunlit cottages, barns, and country roads. Most of her painting is done on location, but Elizabeth paints in her boathouse studio on Shoe Lake.  Winter and spring are her favourite seasons – a creative, prolific time for Elizabeth. Elizabeth studied painting at Haliburton School of the Arts, the University of Guelph Fine Art Department,  in workshops across Canada and United States, and from her own study of Canadian and American impressionist and post-impressionist painters.
